How does PDF translation work?
The tool reads every text block in your PDF, sends the text through a professional AI translation engine, and then rebuilds each page with the translated text placed in the same position, size, and colour as the original. Images, graphics, and page layout are untouched.
Will my PDF look the same after translation?
Yes - that is the whole point of the layout-preserving engine. Headings stay headings, paragraphs stay in place, and images are never moved. Translated text can be slightly longer or shorter than the original, so it is automatically fitted into the same box.
Which languages can I translate to?
Over 60 target languages, including all major European languages, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Bengali, Nepali, Tamil, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Swahili, and many more.
Do I need to know the source language?
No. The source language is detected automatically when you upload the file - you will see it appear in the From box. If detection is unsure, the engine simply detects it again at translation time.
Can I translate a scanned PDF?
Yes. If the PDF has no text layer (a scan or a photo of a document), we automatically run OCR first to recognise the text, then translate it. Clean, high-resolution scans give the best results.
What is the difference between the PDF and text output?
Translated PDF rebuilds your document in the new language with the original layout. Plain text (.txt) gives you just the translated words, useful when you only need the content and not the formatting.
Are numbers, emails, and names translated?
No - dates, amounts, codes, email addresses, URLs, and proper names are deliberately kept unchanged, so contracts, invoices, and reports stay accurate.
How accurate is the translation?
The engine uses professional AI translation that understands document context, producing natural, fluent output for business, academic, and personal documents. As with any machine translation, we recommend a human review for legally binding text.
Can I import from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive?
Yes. Use the cloud buttons on the upload screen to pull files in directly, and the save menu on the result screen to send the translated file back to the cloud.
Are my files kept private?
Yes. Uploads happen over HTTPS, files are not shared, and they are deleted from our servers shortly after the job finishes.
