How to watermark an image

1
Upload your image from your device, or pull it from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, BMP and TIFF are all supported - add one image, or up to three with a free account.
2
Type your watermark text - your name, brand, or a label like COPYRIGHT - or switch to image mode and upload your own logo. Pick a font size and colour to match the look you want.
3
Place the watermark: drag it anywhere on the image or snap it to a preset, then adjust opacity and rotation, and turn on mosaic mode to tile it across the whole image as an anti-copy pattern.
4
Preview the result in the editor. The watermark sits on a live overlay so you can fine-tune every setting before saving.
5
Click Add Watermark to apply. Download your image kept in its original format (or the whole batch as a ZIP), or save it back to the cloud.

Why use our Watermark Image tool

Custom text watermark
Type any text - your name, brand, or COPYRIGHT - to use as your mark. Style it with the font size, colour, and rotation that suit your photo.
Image & logo watermark
Prefer a logo? Upload your own image as the watermark, with one-click background removal so it sits cleanly over any photo.
Drag to position
Drag the watermark to any spot on the image, or snap it to one of nine presets - corner, centre, or edge. Tap a preset again to reset it.
Opacity slider
Take the watermark from fully solid to nearly invisible. Subtle marks read as a faint signature; solid marks stand out.
Rotation control
Tilt the watermark to any angle. Keep it upright, slant it slightly, or rotate fully diagonal for the classic stamp look.
Mosaic mode
Tile the watermark in a repeating grid across the whole image - the classic anti-copy pattern that is hard to crop out without losing part of the photo.
Pick any colour
Use brand red, signature black, or any colour you choose. The colour picker lets you match your photo or stand out boldly against it.
Many image formats
JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, TIFF and HEIC all work. Output keeps the same format as the input - HEIC is saved as JPG, since browsers can't write HEIC.
Batch watermarking
Watermark up to three photos at once with a free account using the same settings, then download them together as a ZIP.
Live preview
See the watermark on a real preview of your image as you adjust position, opacity, and rotation - no guessing.
Original quality kept
Resolution and dimensions are preserved. The watermark is applied as a fresh overlay without re-compressing the rest of the image.
Private by design
Watermarking runs entirely in your browser - your photo is never uploaded unless you choose cloud import or sharing.

Frequently asked questions

What watermark options can I customise?
Type any text - name, brand, or label - or upload your own logo image. Pick the font size, colour, opacity, rotation, and position. Drag the watermark anywhere on the photo, or turn on mosaic mode to tile it across the whole image.
What image formats can I watermark?
JPG (and .jpeg), PNG, WEBP, BMP, TIFF, and HEIC are all supported. The output keeps the same format as the input - the one exception is HEIC, which is saved as JPG because browsers can't write the HEIC format.
Can I use my own logo instead of text?
Yes. Switch to image mode and upload a PNG, JPG, or WEBP logo to use as the watermark. There's a one-click background remover so a logo on a solid background sits cleanly over your photo, plus the same opacity, size, rotation, position, and mosaic controls.
Where can I place the watermark on the image?
Anywhere. Drag it across the photo to any position, or snap it to one of nine presets (corners, edges, centre). Tap a preset again to reset the position. Corners suit subtle signatures; the centre is stronger for copyright protection.
Can I add Watermark to multiple images at once?
Yes. Without an account you can watermark one image at a time (up to 80 MB). With a free account you can batch up to 3 images at once (100 MB total) using the same settings - the results come back as a ZIP.
Can I make the watermark semi-transparent?
Yes. The opacity slider takes it from fully solid to almost invisible. Faded watermarks act as a subtle signature; solid ones make a clear claim of ownership.
Can I rotate the watermark?
Yes. Tilt to any angle - 0 degrees upright, 45 degrees diagonal, or anywhere in between. Diagonal angles give the classic stamped look that's hard to crop out.
Will the original image quality be lost?
No. We preserve the original resolution and dimensions, and keep your input format. The watermark is added as a clean overlay - the rest of the image stays as sharp as the source.
Can I import from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive?
Yes. Use the cloud buttons on the upload screen to pull images in directly. No need to download them to your device first.
Are my files kept private?
Yes - watermarking happens entirely in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded to our servers unless you choose to import from the cloud or create a share link, both over HTTPS.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The tool runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet, or desktop, and you can drag the watermark with touch.
