Privacy Policy

Effective: May 2026 · iHatePDF.com

Simply put: Your files are deleted within the hour. We never read them, sell them, or keep them. Account is optional.

1What Happens to Your Files

Every file you upload is temporary by design. Once processing is complete, our systems flag files for immediate deletion. An automated cleanup task ensures all files are removed within one hour - usually much sooner. We built it this way from the start because your documents should never outlive their purpose on our servers.

2What We Never Do

We do not read your files. We do not index their content. We do not train AI models on your documents. We do not sell, share, or transfer your file data to any third party. Our tools process your files programmatically for the sole purpose of delivering your requested output - nothing else.

3Sign-in with Google (OAuth User Data Disclosure)

iHatePDF offers an optional sign-in with Google so you can sync preferences across visits. This section discloses every detail of how iHatePDF interacts with Google user data. Data we access. When you sign in we request only the OAuth scopes openid, email and profile. Through these scopes Google returns four specific fields: your Google account identifier known as sub, your full name, your email address, and the URL of your Google profile picture. We do not request or access any other Google data. In particular, we never read or touch your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or Photos. How we use the data. We use the four fields exclusively for: authentication and session creation; displaying your name and avatar inside the iHatePDF interface so you can confirm which account is signed in; associating your saved preferences with the account; and sending you service-related email when necessary. We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, behavioural analysis, resale, or for training any artificial intelligence or machine learning model. Storage and security. Google user data is stored in our session database on secured infrastructure inside the European Economic Area, transmitted only over HTTPS, never combined with the content of your uploaded files, and accessible only to the small operations team that runs iHatePDF. We never receive or store your Google password. Third-party sharing. We do not sell, rent, transfer, or share Google user data with any third party. Retention and deletion. Google user data is retained for as long as your iHatePDF account exists. You may permanently delete your account and all associated Google user data at any time by visiting https://ihatepdf.com/data-deletion or by emailing contact@ihatepdf.com; deletion is completed within thirty days. You may also revoke iHatePDF access from your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately ends your session and prevents future sign-ins. Limited Use compliance. iHatePDF use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4Anonymous Usage Statistics

We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are popular and how we can improve the service. This collects anonymous information such as pages visited and session duration. It cannot identify you personally. You may opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5Advertising

To keep iHatePDF free, we may display ads via Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing. You can opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. Opting out reduces personalisation but does not remove ads entirely.

6Your Device Storage

We store lightweight preferences - such as your theme choice - in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device, is not shared with anyone, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

7Your Rights

Because we collect minimal data, there is very little we hold about you. EU users have rights under GDPR including access and erasure. If you contacted us via a form and want that deleted, reach out and we will act promptly.

8Security

All connections use HTTPS encryption. Files are stored in isolated environments inaccessible to other users. We apply industry-standard security measures, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.

9Updates

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of iHatePDF after updates means you accept the revised terms.

10Contact

Privacy questions can be sent via our website contact page. We respond within a reasonable timeframe.
