How do I compress an image for free?
Add your images in the box above, choose a quality level or a target size, and download. Each photo comes out smaller, ready for email, WhatsApp or an upload form. It's free, with no watermark and no sign-up.
How do I compress an image to 100 KB, 50 KB or 20 KB?
Switch to target size, type the size you need, such as 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 KB, and compress. The tool picks the highest quality that fits. If a very large photo still can't get that small, also set a maximum width, for example 1200 px, and try again.
How do I reduce image size without losing quality?
Start with the quality slider around 75 to 85%: the file usually shrinks a lot while the photo looks the same on screen. WebP gives the smallest files at the same quality; JPG is the most compatible.
Should I choose JPG, WebP or PNG?
JPG works everywhere and suits photos. WebP makes the smallest files and is supported by modern browsers and apps. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which suits logos and screenshots, but it can't use a target size.
How do I change the image dimensions in pixels?
Set a maximum width, such as 1080 or 1920 px. Larger images are scaled down proportionally, which cuts the file size a lot; smaller ones are left as they are.
Can I compress many photos at once?
Yes. Compress up to 30 images at once without an account, or up to 100 with a free account, and download them together in one ZIP.
Can I compress HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF photos are accepted and saved in the format you choose, such as JPG, so they open on any device.
Is the photo's EXIF data kept?
Only if you want. By default, metadata such as camera details and GPS location is left out, which also protects your privacy. Turn on Keep metadata to keep it in JPG output.
Can I compress GIFs?
Animated GIFs are passed through unchanged so the animation isn't lost. Still images in GIF format can be saved as JPG, WebP or PNG instead.
How do I compress a photo on iPhone or Android?
Open this page in Safari or Chrome, add photos from your gallery, choose the size and download. No app is needed, and the work happens on your phone.
How do I make a PDF smaller instead?
For PDF files, use Compress PDF. To turn compressed images into a PDF, use JPG to PDF.
Are my photos kept private?
Yes. Images are compressed in your browser on your own device and aren't uploaded to our server. Only if you choose to share a link or save to cloud storage is a file sent.
