Yes. Open this page in Safari or Chrome, take or choose a photo, and download the result. iPhone HEIC photos are accepted. Ask someone else to take the photo from about 1.5 metres away for the most natural result.

Common reasons are shadows on the face or background, a tilted head, glasses with glare, a non-neutral expression, hair covering the eyes, or a photo that's too old. Use even light, look straight at the camera and keep your mouth closed.

Rules change and some offices require photos from certified photographers or taken on site, for example German passports and ID cards since May 2025. Check your authority's current requirements before you apply.

Yes. Lay the baby on a plain white sheet or hold them against a plain wall, take a clear photo with eyes open if possible, and let the tool fit and clean up the background. Authorities are usually a little more flexible with newborns.

Yes. The photo is sent over an encrypted connection to find your face and remove the background, and it isn't stored afterwards. The final layout is created in your browser.
