Can I add a new background instead of leaving it transparent?
Yes. After the cut-out is ready, click Compose to drop your subject onto a solid colour, plain white, or any image you upload as a background. Drag the subject to position, scale it up or down, or flip it horizontally before downloading the final composite.
How does the AI know what to keep?
The model is trained to recognise the foreground subject of an image - people, animals, products, food, plants, vehicles, and most everyday objects. It learns from millions of examples to spot edges and separate them from whatever is behind.
What kinds of images work best?
Photos with a clear, well-lit subject and a reasonably distinct background. Group photos, complex scenes with multiple subjects, and very busy backgrounds may need a few tries or some manual cleanup afterwards.
What output format do I get?
A PNG file with a transparent background. PNG is the standard for transparency and works in every image editor, design tool, and most modern websites.
Will hair, fur, or fine edges look clean?
Yes - the model handles fine outlines like hair, fur, and lace specifically. Some very fine flyaway strands may smooth out a touch, but the overall look is much cleaner than a quick manual cutout.
Can I remove backgrounds from multiple images at once?
Yes. Single removals work without an account (one image, up to 80 MB). With a free account you can batch up to 3 images at once (100 MB total) - the cut-outs come back together as a ZIP.

Yes. Use the cloud buttons on the upload screen to pull images in directly. No need to download them to your device first.
What if the AI removes part of my subject by mistake?
Try a different photo of the same subject with better lighting or a less busy background. Most images come out clean on the first pass, but cluttered scenes occasionally need a few attempts.
Are my files kept private?
Yes. Uploads happen over HTTPS, files are not shared, and they are deleted from our servers shortly after the job finishes.
