Frequently asked questions
How do I rotate a PDF and save it?
Add your PDF in the box above, turn the pages with the rotate buttons and download the result. The new orientation is saved inside the file, so it stays that way when you open, print or send it. It's free, with no watermark and no sign-up.
How do I rotate just one page of a PDF?
Each page has its own left and right buttons. Turn only the pages that are sideways or upside down and leave the rest; the other pages keep their orientation.
How do I rotate all pages at once?
Use the rotate-all buttons to turn every page in one click, or select several pages, or type a range like 2-5, and rotate only those.
How do I turn a PDF upside down by 180 degrees?
Click the right (or left) button twice. Each click turns the page 90 degrees: once for landscape, twice for upside down.
Why does my PDF go back to the old orientation after I rotate it?
Rotating in a PDF viewer, with its buttons or keyboard shortcuts, usually only changes the view and isn't saved. This tool writes the rotation into the PDF itself, so the downloaded file opens the right way up in every app.
Can I rotate a PDF by a few degrees, such as 45°?
No. Pages turn in 90-degree steps: left, right or upside down, which fixes scanned pages that came out sideways. Slightly tilted scans can't be straightened here.
How do I rotate a scanned PDF?
Add the scan and turn the pages that are sideways or upside down. Rotation doesn't touch the image quality: the pages are turned, not re-scanned or re-compressed.
How do I rotate a PDF on iPhone, Android or Mac?
Open this page in Safari or Chrome, add the PDF, rotate the pages and download. No app is needed, and the rotation runs on your phone or computer.
Can I rotate a PDF in Google Drive and keep it?
Google Drive's viewer can't save a rotation. Open the file here straight from Google Drive, rotate it and save the corrected PDF back to Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
Can I rotate several PDFs at once?
With a free account you can rotate up to 3 PDFs at once (80 MB each, 120 MB in total), switching between them in the sidebar. The rotated files download together in one ZIP.
Can I undo a rotation?
Yes. Undo steps back through your changes, and Reset returns every page to how it was before you started. Nothing is saved until you download.
Does rotating change anything else in my PDF?
No. Text, images, links and bookmarks stay as they were; only the page orientation changes.
What can I do with the PDF after rotating it?
Send it straight to Merge PDF to combine it with other files, to Organize PDF to reorder pages, or to Compress PDF, without uploading it again.
Are my files kept private?
Yes. The PDF is rotated in your browser on your own device. Only if your browser can't do it is the file sent over HTTPS to our server, which deletes it automatically within one hour.
