How to redact a PDF

Upload your PDF from your device, or pull it directly from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Without an account you can redact one file up to 80 MB. With a free account you can redact up to 3 files at once - 80 MB each, 120 MB in total.

Click and drag anywhere on a page to draw a black box over what you want to redact - text, an image, a signature, or a whole section. Drag a box to reposition it, pull its handles to resize, or click the × to delete - and undo any change while you work.

Add as many redactions as you need, on any page. The black boxes are a preview - the underlying content is still in the file at this stage.

Click Redact PDF to apply. The content under every box is permanently stripped from the document - not just covered. Even copy-paste and text search will turn up nothing.

Download your redacted PDF (or a ZIP when you redact several), save it back to the cloud, or send it straight into another tool like Merge or Sign.

Comment caviarder un PDF gratuitement ?

Ajoutez votre PDF ci-dessus, tracez une bande sur chaque texte ou image à masquer et appliquez le caviardage. Vous téléchargez un PDF où ce contenu a disparu pour de bon, gratuitement, sans filigrane et sans inscription.

Le caviardage est-il définitif ?

Oui. Le texte, les images et les dessins sous chaque bande sont supprimés du fichier, pas seulement cachés derrière une forme : impossible de les copier, de les rechercher ou de les révéler en déplaçant la bande. Les champs de formulaire dessous sont retirés et les métadonnées, comme l’auteur et le titre, effacées.

Comment masquer du texte dans un PDF ?

Tracez une bande sur le texte à masquer, en noir, blanc, gris ou rouge, puis appliquez. Avec le blanc, la zone retirée se fond dans la page. Un simple rectangle dessiné par-dessus ne suffit pas : le texte resterait sélectionnable.

Peut-on caviarder la même zone sur toutes les pages ?

Oui. Tracez la bande une fois et appliquez-la à toutes les pages, pratique pour un en-tête, un pied de page ou un numéro de compte situé au même endroit sur chaque page.

Peut-on déplacer, redimensionner ou annuler une bande ?

Oui. Faites glisser une bande, tirez ses poignées, supprimez-la avec son ×, et utilisez Annuler pour revenir en arrière. Rien n’est supprimé avant d’appliquer le caviardage.

Peut-on rechercher un mot et le caviarder partout ?

Pas pour l’instant. Les bandes se tracent à la main : vérifiez donc chaque page pour les noms, numéros ou mots à masquer.

Comment caviarder un PDF sur iPhone, iPad ou Windows ?

Que devient une signature électronique ?

Le caviardage réécrit le fichier : une signature numérique existante ne sera plus valide. Caviardez d’abord, signez ensuite, par exemple avec Signer PDF.
