How to redact a PDF

Upload your PDF from your device, or pull it directly from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Without an account you can redact one file up to 80 MB. With a free account you can redact up to 3 files at once - 80 MB each, 120 MB in total.

Click and drag anywhere on a page to draw a black box over what you want to redact - text, an image, a signature, or a whole section. Drag a box to reposition it, pull its handles to resize, or click the × to delete - and undo any change while you work.

Add as many redactions as you need, on any page. The black boxes are a preview - the underlying content is still in the file at this stage.

Click Redact PDF to apply. The content under every box is permanently stripped from the document - not just covered. Even copy-paste and text search will turn up nothing.

Download your redacted PDF (or a ZIP when you redact several), save it back to the cloud, or send it straight into another tool like Merge or Sign.

¿Cómo censurar o tachar texto en un PDF gratis?

¿La censura es permanente?

Sí. El texto, las imágenes y los dibujos bajo cada recuadro se eliminan del archivo, no solo se tapan con una forma, así que no se pueden copiar, buscar ni descubrir moviendo el recuadro. También se quitan los campos de formulario de debajo y se borran metadatos como autor y título.

¿Por qué no basta con un rectángulo negro?

Una forma dibujada encima solo tapa el texto a la vista; las palabras de debajo se pueden seguir seleccionando, copiando o encontrando con la búsqueda. La censura real, como la de esta herramienta, las borra del archivo.

¿Cómo censurar datos personales en un PDF?

Tapa con recuadros nombres, números de documento, cuentas o direcciones, y aplica. Si se repiten en el mismo lugar de cada página, dibuja el recuadro una vez y aplícalo a todas las páginas.

¿Puedo elegir otro color que no sea negro?

Sí. Los recuadros pueden ser negros, blancos, grises o rojos. El blanco sirve para que la zona eliminada se funda con la página.

¿Puedo mover, cambiar o deshacer un recuadro?

Sí. Arrastra el recuadro para moverlo, usa sus tiradores para cambiar el tamaño, bórralo con su ×, y deshaz los pasos. Nada se elimina hasta que aplicas la censura.

¿Puedo buscar una palabra y censurarla en todo el documento?

Por ahora no. Los recuadros se dibujan a mano, así que revisa cada página buscando los nombres, números o palabras que debes ocultar.

¿Cómo censurar un PDF firmado?

La censura reescribe el archivo, así que una firma digital existente deja de ser válida. Censura primero y firma después, por ejemplo con Firmar PDF.
