How to add page numbers to a PDF

Add your PDF from your device, or pull it from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Without an account: 1 file, up to 80 MB. With a free account: up to 3 files, 80 MB each (120 MB total). Number several files at once and they come back as a ZIP.

Decide where numbering starts. Use any number as the starting value, skip the cover or back page, or enter a custom range like 5-20 to number only specific pages.

Pick the format - plain numbers, "Page 1", "1 of N", Roman numerals, or a custom template - and add a prefix/suffix with zero-padding for Bates labels like ABC000001.

Customise the look from the toolbar: position (with an odd/even mirror option), font, size, colour, and opacity. The preview updates live.

Number formats
Plain numbers, "Page 1", "1 of N", "Page 1 of N", "- 1 -", Roman numerals (i, ii, iii or I, II, III), or a fully custom template using {n} and {total}.
Prefix, suffix & Bates
Add a prefix and suffix, and zero-pad to a fixed width - so ABC- with 6 digits gives proper Bates labels like ABC000001.
Skip cover and back
Tick to skip the first page, the last page, or both - useful for keeping title pages and indexes clean while the body of the document is numbered.
Number specific pages
Leave every page numbered, or enter a custom range like 5-20, 25 to number only those pages.
Custom starting number
Page numbers do not have to start at 1. Begin from any value - 5, 12, 100 - to continue a series across multiple documents.
Position + mirror
Six positions (corners and header/footer centres), plus a mirror option that alternates to the outer edge on odd/even pages for double-sided printing.

Pick the font family and dial the size in points to match the rest of your document.

选择左侧或右侧位置，并开启奇偶页镜像选项，页码就会在奇数页和偶数页之间左右交替。
怎么从第 3 页开始编页码？
只给指定页面编号，例如 3-20，并设置起始编号，例如 1 或 3。被跳过的页面不占用编号，所以第一张编号的页面显示的就是你设定的起始值。
封面不想加页码怎么办？
开启“封面不加页码”的选项，封面保持干净，下一页从 1（或你设定的起始号）开始。最后一页也有同样的选项。
页码能用中文格式吗，比如“第 1 页”？
可以。在中文页面上，现成格式会直接显示为“第 1 页”“1 / N”和“第 1 页，共 N 页”，也可以在“语言”菜单中切换为其他语言（共 12 种）。需要别的写法时，格式选择 Custom…（自定义），输入如“第 {n} 页 / 共 {total} 页”。中文以思源黑体（Noto Sans CJK）显示。
可以改字体、字号和颜色吗？
可以。字体可选 Helvetica、Times 或 Courier（常规或粗体），字号 6 到 48 磅，任意颜色，透明度 10% 到 100%。还可以加前缀、后缀，或补零显示为 001。
PDF 原有的页码能删除或修改吗？
本工具用于添加新页码，不能删除页面上已经印好的页码。要删除或修改原有页码，可在 Editly 中编辑那段文字。
多个 PDF 怎么连续编页码？
先用 合并 PDF 把文件合成一个，再给合并后的文档添加页码，页码就会连续。
