How to unlock a PDF
1
Upload your protected PDF from your device, or pull it directly from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Without an account: up to 80 MB per file. With a free account: up to 100 MB per file.
2
Enter the password that opens the file. If you only forgot an owner password (used for print or copy restrictions, not for opening), use the forgot-password option and confirm you own the file.
3
Click Unlock PDF. We verify the password and strip the encryption from the document.
4
The output is a normal PDF that opens straight away, with no password prompt and no editing restrictions.
5
Download your unlocked file, save it back to the cloud, or send it straight into another tool like Edit PDF or Merge.
Why use our Unlock PDF tool
Password removed cleanly
The encryption layer is stripped from the file, leaving a normal PDF you can open and edit anywhere.
Needs your current password
Enter the password you already use to open the file. We do not crack or guess - just remove what you authorise.
Restrictions lifted
Print, copy, and edit limits that were tied to the password are removed at the same time, so you get a fully usable PDF back.
Original quality preserved
Pages, text, images, and metadata are kept exactly as in the source. Only the lock is gone.
Opens anywhere
The unlocked file opens normally in Adobe Acrobat, browsers, mobile readers, and any standards-compliant PDF tool.
Cloud import
Pull files from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive without a local download step.
Workflow Ready
Send the unlocked PDF straight into Edit PDF, Merge, or any other tool without re-uploading.
Private and secure
Files are processed over HTTPS and deleted from our servers shortly after the job finishes. Your password is never stored.
Free, no watermark
No watermark on the PDF, no signup needed, no per-day cap on jobs.
